Winger Josh Charnley is the latest player to be the focus of attention in this week's Prior to Wire picture feature...

HE was often the bane of Warrington Wolves' life.

Josh Charnley scored some important tries for his first professional club Wigan Warriors, none more so than the one he notched against Warrington Wolves in the 2016 Grand Final at Old Trafford.

That was actually his last game in cherry and white, for a club with whom he'd played for seven seasons in the first team and winning a stack of silverware.

But for the last three-and-a-bit years the former England international has been firmly entrenched in primrose and blue, returning to the 13-man code with Warrington after a spell in rugby union with Sale Sharks.

Charnley, 30, who hails from Chorley and got married to Zoe Cross at the weekend, helped The Wire win the Challenge Cup Final against St Helens at Wembley in 2019 and all eyes will be on him to return to fine try-scoring form in Daryl Powell's first season in charge of Wolves.
