A FIRST Christmas Market will take to Birchwood Shopping Centre next month.
It takes place on Saturday, December 11 outside entrance four of the centre.
Fifty small independent businesses and award-winning artisan traders will be showcased at the event.
There will be local food producers, freshly baked produce from micro bakeries, street food, cakes, freshly roasted coffee, tasty treats, local gin sellers, artisan ice cream, deli, handcrafted jewellery, arts, craft, candles, cheeses, wax melts, dog treats and more.
Santa will also be in attendance with the help of Birchwood Lions.
There will also be live music all day courtesy of Gemma Sutton from The Voice Box. Gemma is usually at home on the West End stage in shows such as Gypsy, Legally Blonde, Hairspray, Chicago and Follies. She will be performing from her converted stage horsebox and we can’t wait to get those toes tapping
John Magee, centre manager said: “We are thrilled to be working with Independent Street to deliver our very first Christmas Market at Birchwood Shopping Centre and we would love to see as many of our customers as possible enjoying the atmosphere and discovering the unique selection of crafts and gifts that will be on offer.
“The Christmas Market is a key part of our programme of festive activity for 2021 which also includes visits from Father Christmas and craft workshops for the little ones on December 21 and 22.
Lisa Cowley from Independent Street added: “We are delighted to have been asked to deliver a fantastic event for Birchwood Shopping Centre showcasing many local producers and crafters. We cannot wait to deliver a specialist Christmas event with many award-winning producers of unique goods set to inspire.
“Pop along and join us, it is a superb opportunity to find out the origins of your food and meet our makers and bakers. If it's Christmas shopping inspiration you need, some weekend goodies or just browse and chat to our local makers and bakers then this event is for you. There will be something for everyone! Grab a gluhwein from our bar and soak in the atmosphere.”
