A TOWN centre homeless shelter will be holding its annual sleep out in December.

Room at the Inn and The Y Project, which is based on Winmarleigh Street, will be hosting a series of events to share the spotlight on homelessness, especially during the winter months.

It is urging residents to join in to raise funds and awareness about the importance of the charity’s commitment to provide support and practical help to people who are homeless, or struggling with difficulties.

On December 3, the charity will be holding its annual sleep out, as part of National Sleep Out Week.

On December 11, between 10am and 3pm, the charity’s ‘super heroes’ will be in the town centre alongside Father Christmas and a nativity group to raise funds and provide information and leaflets about its Christmas programme, which is especially for people who may be on their own this Christmas.

Furthermore, on December 17 the charity will be holding its Christmas concert at Cairo Street Unitarian Chapel, starting at 7pm. Admission is £5 or a donation can be made.
