A DRUNKEN teen and her dad tag teamed a man in a ‘nasty unprovoked’ attack in Time Square.

The attack committed by Caitlin Driscoll, 18, and her dad, who has since died, caused nearby staff to ‘turn away’ due to the ‘degree of violence’.

Driscoll appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday after pleading guilty to ABH.

Prosecuting, Simon Green stated how the offence happened outside Cineworld in Time Square.

The court was shown a video of the attack which was captured on CCTV.

The footage showed Driscoll kicking and punching the victim in the head repeatedly as well as dragging him.

She also sat on top of him attacking him and continued to go back multiple times to attack the man.

Driscoll’s dad also joined in, kicking and dragging the man.

The victim had to attend A&E for a check up and suffered swelling, bruises, a bloody nose, a bruised jaw and a black eye.

He also suffered from ‘tenderness’ and ‘uncomfortableness’.

Mr Green told the court how the offence is aggravated by the fact that Driscoll went back on several occasions to continue the assault and there were ‘multiple kicks’ and ‘repeated strikes’, and also because the victim did not fight back.

Defending, Gary Schooler said: “This, from my client’s point of view, was something completely out of character.

“She comes across as a quiet, polite and well-mannered person.

“It would be difficult to believe someone like my client was as violent as she was without the footage.”

Mr Schooler also told the court how Driscoll has a ‘troubling’ background with a ‘difficult’ childhood and is now alcohol dependant.

He claimed the teen has been struggling to manage her emotions since the death of her father.

Mr Schooler added: “When she seen the footage she was very distressed and could not believe she had acted in that way.”

The court heard Driscoll has expressed remorse for the offence.

Concluding, the chair of the bench said: “We have seen the CCTV footage and it is a particularly nasty assault. Prolonged assault, totally unprovoked.”

Driscoll was handed a 26-week prison sentenced, suspended for two years due to her ‘remorse’ and ‘realistic prospect of ‘rehabilitation’.

She was also issued a two-year community order and ordered to pay the victim £400 compensation.
