THIS was the scene after a car crashed into a set of traffic lights in the town centre yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Parker Street at around 4pm on Sunday, September 12, after the collision near to Bank Quay Station.
One fire engine and Cheshire Police attended the scene, with the road shut off temporarily after the vehicle collided with an electrical feeder pillar – causing the lights to lose power.
Traffic was backed up to Bridge Foot as a result.
No casualties are believed to have been injured during the incident, which reportedly involved two cars.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters were called following reports of a collision involving one car and a electricity box on Parker Street.
“On arrival the crew made the scene safe and cordoned off the area.
“There were no reports of any injuries.”
