A TOP logistics company has announced that it will be opening a huge new depot in the town.

Panther Logistics will open its 105,000sq ft warehouse on Kingsland Grange in Woolston ‘to support growth following increased demand driven by the pandemic’.

The site will be able to complete 1,000 deliveries a day in Cheshire, North Wales and Lancashire once it is fully operational in September.

Up to 7,000 pallet spaces will be available at the firm’s 10th unit in the country, which will also be used for the storage of customers’ stock.

Describing itself as the ‘UK’s leading next-day two-men delivery company’, Panther Logistics is aiming to achieve 30 per cent growth during 2021.

Managing director Gary McKelvey said: “The addition of the new depot to our national network is an exciting proposition for both Panther and its valued customers.

“The strategic positioning of our new depot will ensure that our goods will reach their intended destination in pristine condition and in a timely fashion, boosting customer satisfaction during a time where consumer delivery expectations have increased significantly in recent months.

“The final leg of the purchasing process has become increasingly important and swiftly become a brand differentiator – especially over the course of the pandemic, where more people have had a greater reliance for home delivery services.

“Therefore, by extending our reach into the north west, our new facility in Warrington will enhance the unrivalled service which has already earned Panther the reputation as the UK’s leading next-day, two-man delivery company as well as help us reduce both handling and stem mileage.”
