WARRINGTON is set to be one of the hottest places in the country this weekend as warm weather and sunshine returns.
After a week of unsettled spells and at times heavy rain, this week is predicted to be much better.
Met Office forecasters are predicting bright weather, with the mercury in thermometers set to rise into the mid-to-high 20s.
Temperatures could reach 26C on Sunday, after highs of 24C and 25C on Friday and Saturday.
This means Warrington will be hotter than popular south coast seaside destinations such as Bournemouth, Brighton and Newquay.
Unfortunately, the town will still be cooler than some popular European destinations, such as Nice and Barcelona, where temperatures are set to reach at least 30C.
