IT has been described as 'possibly UK's biggest' brunch menu.

And The Botanist's new concept is certainly one of the most varied with 18 breakfast items, split across six categories.

From Turkish shakshuka to French patisserie and from British fry up to southern California’s smoothie bowls, the Time Square eatery has brought together food from all over the world for its Instagram-worthy brunch boards.

So when The Botanist invited my family to give it a go I couldn't resist.

What is particularly welcoming about the new brunch menu is that it caters for everyone.

For example, plant-based choices are integrated into every category – which made it easy and really enjoyable for my vegan wife and son with allergies.

Basically you choose something 'hearty' or 'healthy' from each category and then it is all brought together on a board.

It is quite a feast so try resist eating anything beforehand.

Beyond the six categories there are no rules really so you can fit choices to your own preferences, diet and personality.

For instance, I'm not big on eggs so I went for the scrambled tofu – much nicer than it sounds and definitely worth a go if you have ever been curious about this vegan egg alternative.

Topped with toasted seeds, it was rich and comforting with a hint of spice.

But then I went for the smokey Cumberland sausage wheel with maple, streaky bacon. Definitely a hearty dish at the other end of the spectrum.

My favourite though was probably the jalapeno cornbread baked with chipotle butter – it wasn't spicy so much as soft, warm and buttery. Absolutely delicious.

You also get a juice shot and a fruit and grains course to keep things on an even keel (my papaya and buckwheat granola with cherry yoghurt was very nice).

I was almost defeated by the time I had the 'sweet' – carrot cake overnight oats – but it was incredible. It was basically mini porridge topped with creamy carrot cake icing.

The contrast of flavours worked better than I could have possibly expected. Such a treat.

For me, brunch retains that novelty factor because it's something I have so infrequently.

It made this experience such a treat and and, with apparently more than 700 different ways you can combine the 18 items, I'll definitely be back for more.

Brunch is available at The Botanist Warrington until 11am.
