MEMBERS of the public have been warned not to approach a convicted robber who has absconded from prison.

Ben Adderson, who has links to Warrington, absconded from HMP Sudbury in Derbyshire on Sunday night.

The 23-year-old was jailed at Carlisle Crown Court in 2017 after ‘terrorising’ a lone woman as she walked through a park during a knifepoint robbery.

He is described as being 6ft4 and of a slight built with brown hair and blue eyes.

Adderson also has two tattoos – one on his right arm showing a cross, and the other on his left arm featuring a cannabis leaf.

A Derbyshire Police spokesman said: “A convict has absconded from HMP Sudbury open prison.

“Ben Adderson absconded from the prison overnight between Sunday, June 20, and Monday, June 21.

“The 23-year-old was jailed at Carlisle Crown Court in 2017 for robbery.

“Adderson – who has links to Carlisle, Warrington and Middlesbrough – is 6ft4, of slight build and with brown hair and blue eyes.

“He has two tattoos – a cross on his right arm and a cannabis leaf on his left arm.

“If you have seen Adderson, or know of his whereabouts, please do not approach him.

“Instead, contact police immediately quoting reference number 507-210621.”
