WITH the season now well and truly underway, Warrington Wolves' fixture schedule is starting to get hectic.
The condensed nature of the 2021 campaign sees several short turnarounds and midweek matches after the pandemic forced a later than usual start.
Owing partly to injuries and players out on loan, Steve Price has named the same 21-man squad for the third fixture in a row ahead of tomorrow's visit to St Helens.
He admits he is looking at the best ways to manage his resources as the games start to pile up.
"Our focus is week-to-week but as a head coach, I have to look at the long-term. That’s always going on in the backdrop," he said.
"It is a marathon and you want to be playing your best footy at the back end of the season. That means you have to keep players healthy.
"It’s important how we manage that in and around the games as they’re starting to come thick and fast over the next few weeks with a number of short turnarounds."
