WARRINGTON and Halton Green Party is commemorating Pride month throughout June with a call for greater acceptance of LGBT+ people in the community.
Group leader Lyndsay McAteer says Pride is a celebration and at the same time a political protest.
She added: "We want our human rights to be protected and enshrined at every level of society.
"We want an end to hate crime and discrimination.
“We are calling for an immediate ban to conversion therapies.
"Conversion therapies are dangerous and insidious."
Ms McAteer also said attacks on the trans community will not be tolerated.
She added: "The Green Party campaigns for the rights of trans people to ensure that everyone is treated with respect and dignity."
