THE M62 was closed this morning after two crashes in the same stretch of the motorway.
Both incidents occurred on the eastbound carriageway between junction seven at Rainhill and junction eight at Burtonwood.
Traffic was completely halted in this direction shortly before 8am.
The full closure was lifted shortly afterwards, while the outside lane remained shut for a further period.
But the route is now clear.
