A teenager from Warrington is making a big name for himself on the internet and social media after launching his own virtual chat show during lockdown.

Jake Lindsay is a writer, musician, actor and presenter and after finding himself at home last year as the Covid-19 pandemic struck, he decided to launch his own Youtube channel and interview guests each week from all over the country.

The 19-year-old from Gorse Covert has autistic spectrum disorder, which is a condition related to brain development that impacts how a person perceives and socialises with others, often causing difficulties in social interaction and communication.

The youngster, who has been doing an internship at Green Lane Community Special School, saw comedian Russell Howard’s online offerings as lockdown hit last March and April and felt inspired to do something similar.

Jake said: “When my college courses stopped in March 2020, I wouldn’t let lockdown crush my dreams of being a star in the spotlight.

“Thanks to the magic of technology, I started my online show and thought it would just be for one series.

“But, I was wrong and I’m now on my third series and the show is still going strong.”

Jake’s first interview on The Jake Lindsay Show was with Margaret O’Kell from Warrington Aspergers Society (WASPS) and he has spoken to local council candidates and sports stars as well as other Youtubers, presenters and DJs.

The virtual chat show has been streamed throughout local and national lockdowns, addressing a wide range of issues, not least the Coronavirus pandemic.

Jake said: “I lost my nan to Covid-19 in January so the last few months have been full of grief – it’s been a real rollercoaster.

“The past year has been unusual and challenging but exciting at the same time and I’m looking forward to interviewing more guests in the future.”
