A NEW development on the site of a former car dealership is beginning to shoot up.
Construction work on the plot on Winwick Road formerly occupied by Lookers Vauxhall has commenced in recent weeks.
And the steel framework is already standing tall opposite the Halliwell Jones Stadium and the Tesco Extra supermarket.
This will become a new 5,450sq ft facility for storage firm Lok’n’Store upon completion.
It is anticipated that the scheme will create five full-time jobs – with the premises set to open between 8.30am and 8pm from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm on Saturdays and between 10am and 2pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
Lookers shuts its A49 showroom in May 2018 following Vauxhall’s decision to reduce the size of its network of dealerships in the UK.
And the premises was then demolished in December last year.
