MOTHERS' Day is going to be celebrated in lockdown this year on Sunday, March 14.

But thanks to an innovative Warrington duo, it could be one of the most memorable.

Beth Beedham, from The Priory Flower Company, is offering a range of virtual floral workshops for the occasion as an alternative way to bring families together when they are physically apart.

The Woolston resident has also teamed up with her brother-in-law Jimmy Beedham from wedding band Eccentric Pony so that you can even say thanks to your mum via a doorstep serenade.

Beth said: "Both of us are involved in the wedding industry so when lockdown started we were massively affected.

"That’s when we started looking at alternatives and realised we could team up and do something together.

"We came up with this idea of taking people a beautiful bouquet of flowers and surprising them with their favourite song on their doorstep for a special occasion."

Jimmy and Beth have been offering the flowers and serenade doorstep service since the first lockdown for events like anniversaries and birthdays.

Now they have given it a tweak to focus on all the mums of Warrington.

Beth added: "The reaction has been so good because it’s the type of experience you’ll never forget. Seeing people’s faces light up when we turn up never gets old.

"It is a way of family and friends literally sending their love to one another."

Meanwhile, Beth's virtual workshops over Mothers' Day weekend include a spring vase masterclass on Friday, March 12, and a living wreath session on Saturday, March 13. Both start at 7.30pm.

You can also add on cocktails to the package thanks to Beth teaming up with Warrington bar Bold Street House.

Beth said: "People can have ready-made cocktails delivered with their kits and make a really fun night of it."

The florist was inspired to do the Mothers' Day specials after the success of similar events at Christmas.

She added: "We did Christmas wreath workshops in December and it was wonderful because we had people buying them as gifts for people up and down the country.

"They’d meet on Zoom for it and catch up and it was lovely because it brought families together.

"So we wanted to do it again for Mothers’ Day when a lot of people won’t be able to see their mums.

"The spring vase class has everything you need for a vase full of spring flowers and bright colours.

"And for the living wreath, we’re creating a sustainable, eco-friendly plastic-free wreath that can go on your front door or be used as a table centrepiece.

"It will include flowers and spring bulbs so it will look beautiful and it will continue to grow and bloom in different ways as the weeks go on.

"We specialise in weddings and workshops. All of our wedding jobs are cancelled or on hold and we would usually have a packed schedule of face-to-face workshops.

"But doing the workshops online has been good in a way as it has made it accessible to so many more people."
