THE title is an anagram for My soul mate LLM' (Linda, but of course). Once past that, we find a gentle old folks home of an album, where banality and prettiness co-exist in almost every corner.
This is Macca's growing old' album, although anyone expecting something akin to Dylan's Time Out of Mind will face a severe reality check.
Memory Almost Full does contain fleeting moments of intrigue. An old man muses to good effect on Antique Clothes and - a bit of cheeky oiky Macca, here - That Was Me, in which he seems to be squinting in disbelief at the songwriter of his youth.
Also, the forgiveness he displays in Gratitude (towards you know who') seems indicative of saintly status.
Not without charm but largely ineffectual.
