ARSONISTS torched a car in Bewsey in the early hours of this morning.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Lilford Avenue at around 4.45am today, Friday, after receiving reports of a car on fire.
One fire engine was sent to the scene, and crews discovered the vehicle was ‘well alight’ upon arrival.
Firefighters spent roughly 40 minutes tackling the blaze, which is believed to have been started deliberately.
A fire service spokesman said: “At 4.45am, firefighters were called to reports of a fire off Lilfield Avenue.
“On arrival, the crew found a car which was well alight.
“One firefighter, wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and the crew was detained at the scene for around 40 minutes.
“The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate, and anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number IML931355.”
