FOUR people have been issued with fines for breaching the coronavirus lockdown.
Officers from Cheshire Police caught the quartet on their way to Widnes from St Helens.
When asked what the reason for their journey was and whether it was essential, they revealed that they were heading to a house party.
Under current national lockdown restrictions, residents must not leave their home unless it is absolutely necessary, and people should always stay in their local area if possible.
A tweet from the force’s Widnes Police account read: “Busy start to the shift for E-block.
“Four fines issued for Covid breaches following individuals coming from St Helens for a house party.
“All while managing two scenes and supporting a vulnerable victim after a serious domestic assault.”
