PLANS are set to be submitted for the redevelopment of the Springbrook pub site in Grappenhall.

Leading care home developer New Care is proposing to build a state-of-the-art new 70-bed care facility on the land, off Knutsford Road.

It says the purpose-built ‘new generation’ care facility would meet an identified need in the area for high-quality care for individuals who no longer feel able to cope independently at home or those who may be looking for round-the-clock care for their loved ones.

New Care chief executive Chris McGoff said: “Committed to improving standards of care across the UK, New Care is proposing to redevelop the Springbrook pub site with an expertly designed, purpose-built care facility that will deliver first class care services in an area where there is an identified and well-documented local need and we are confident that the home will be a much welcomed addition to the local area.”

Letters about the scheme have been sent out to residents, which state New Care will be submitting a detailed planning application to Warrington Borough Council in the coming weeks.

The proposed home would offer the ‘highest standards’ of person-centred care and an ‘exceptional clinical offering’ including residential, nursing and specialist dementia care services in a safe, comfortable and home-from-home environment.

Each of the bedrooms will feature a private en-suite wet room, while the home itself will offer several stylish communal lounges, dining rooms, spa assisted bathrooms and landscaped secure gardens.

The care facility would also boast a hair salon and nail bar.

Meanwhile, with its own dedicated hospitality team it is planned to provide high end hotel-style services that ensure continued quality of life and enjoyment for residents including fine dining, concierge services and a busy and varied programme of activities and events.

The proposed facility is the latest in a growing portfolio of award-winning care homes from New Care, one of the UK’s fastest growing development-led care home operators and part of the award-winning McGoff Group.

In addition to jobs created through the construction process, the proposed home would provide around 80 to 100 jobs.

The site is planned for completion in December 2022.
