ROXY Murdoch is already making waves having moved back Down Under.

The former Warrington Wolves Women skipper – wife of recently-departed Wire men's team forward Ben Murdoch-Masila – has been named in the NRL Women's Maori team for the season-opening All-Stars match.

Murdoch will be part of the Maori team to take on the Indigenous All-Stars as part of a double-header in Townsville on Saturday, February 20.

Having returned to Australia following husband Ben's move from The Wire to New Zealand Warriors, Murdoch has been training with the wider Women's Maori squad.

She captained the Wire Women to promotion to Super League in what was their inaugural season in 2019.

She also would have spearheaded the team's first ever season in the top flight in 2020, but the Women's Super League campaign was scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic.

That honour will now go to winger Michelle Davis, who was named as the team's captain for the 2021 season.
