THE number of patients being cared for at Warrington Hospital for coronavirus has risen again.
The sad news was confirmed by Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in its daily Covid-19 briefing this afternoon, Tuesday.
The Lovely Lane site is currently caring for 194 patients that have contracted the virus, with 26 in intensive care.
This demonstrates a rise of seven and one respectively compared with yesterday, Monday.
Since the start of the pandemic, the hospital trust has conducted 51,736 Covid-19 tests, with 3,859 producing a positive result.
A further seven patients have been discharged from the hospital in the past 24 hours after recovering from the virus, taking the discharge total up to 1,194.
Sadly however, a further two coronavirus-positive patients have died since yesterday. This brings the trust’s Covid-19 death toll to 340.
