THE sister of a man who has been missing for 10 days has issued a desperate plea for him to come home.

James Miller was last seen on Slater Street in Latchford at around 11pm last Tuesday, December 22.

Since then, his family have spent their Christmas searching the streets for the 38-year-old amid freezing conditions and snow in the town over the past week.

Speaking to the Warrington Guardian, his sister Emma has urged James to get in contact to let them know he is safe.

Warrington Guardian:

She said: “It’s been awful.

“We’ve always been a very close family and we always all spend Christmas together, but this year I went out searching for James on Christmas Day.

“The night he went missing it was raining, it was freezing for the next two days and since then we’ve had snow.

“It’s completely out of character for anything like this to happen.

Warrington Guardian:

“You see this sort of thing on TV and the news and you never expect it will happen to you, but now it’s me in that position.

“You don’t know what to feel, you’re just constantly in a loop – I’ve been out every day looking for him and putting posters up.”

James is described as being 5ft8 and of a medium build with ‘bright blue eyes’ and a ‘distinctive’ scar on the side of his head.

The Warrington Wolves fanatic, from Latchford, was wearing a white t-shirt and grey jogging bottoms when he went missing.

Warrington Guardian:

He has been known to frequent the Trans Pennine Trail during the coronavirus pandemic.

Staffordshire Police believe James could have travelled to Uttoxeter, while marine units have used sonar technology along the Mersey near to Victoria Park during the search.

Warrington Guardian:

Residents have also been asked to check their sheds, garages and outbuildings.

The family have been touched by the heartening response from the people of Warrington since his disappearance, having been inundated with messages of support from both friends and strangers.

Emma added: “I can’t find the words – I’ve always loved the people of Warrington anyway because I’m born and bred here, but the response has been absolutely amazing.

“My phone has been going off constantly with people reaching out 24/7.

“Everyone knows him, and everyone is trying to help because everyone wants him home.

Warrington Guardian:

“I just want him to know that he shouldn’t worry – I just want him to come home.

“We’re all here, we all love him and we’re here to support him.

“I’m always there for him, and he should know that – I won’t give up searching for him.

“Be safe and please let us know where you are.”

Warrington Guardian:

Anyone with information on James’ whereabouts is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number IML880492.
