TWO more men have been charged in connection with a shooting which left a man with life-changing injuries.

The 55-year-old victim was shot in the leg outside an address on Poplars Avenue in Orford on the evening of Friday, April 24.

Several gunshots were fired outside the house at around 8.45pm on the night in question, with armed police rushing to the scene.

Warrington Guardian:

Fifty-one-year-old Alan Tobin, of Widnes, has now been charged with conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent in connection with the shooting.

Forty-year-old John Tobin, of Liverpool, has been charged with participating in the activities of an organised crime group.

Both men appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court on Friday, December 18, in order to face these charges and have been remanded into custody ahead of a further appearance before Liverpool Crown Court next month.

Anthony Morris, Aaron Bretherton and Lewis Fitzpatrick – all of Liverpool and aged 23, 23 and 26 respectively – will stand trial in the New Year over the attack.

They have been charged with a range of offences, including conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Jamie Rothwell, from Salford, was arrested in Amsterdam on a European arrest warrant earlier this month over his alleged involvement – and the 34-year-old is awaiting extradition to the UK.
