While most people choose to buy and cook their own Christmas dinners, others leave the cooking to the professionals and head out to a local pub or restaurant for theirs.

Luckily, Warrington is in tier 2 meaning hospitality venues can reopen if they serve substantial meals- Christmas dinners included.

However, it’s important to note that this tier system is subject to change and your Christmas Day plans could be cancelled- so keep this in mind before you put a deposit down.

Springbrook Pub, Grappenhall

For some, Christmas Day is incomplete unless they have spend a few hours down the local pub.

The Springbrook pub in Grappenhall is still accepting Christmas Day orders- and at £47.99 their three course meal is an absolute bargain.

Game pate, tomato and herb scallops and blue cheese souffle are some of the most unique started on the menu.

Their roast turkey dinner includes hand-carved slices of succulent roast turkey, served with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, pigs in blankets, seasoned pork stuffing, rich port gravy and cranberry sauce.

However, if you don’t fancy that then lamb, steak and aubergine schnitzel wellington are also great options to consider.

For pudding, chocolate and Irish cream roulade, and lime and pistachio torte are just two mouth-watering options to consider

After this year, some people might not feel comfortable heading to a packed restaurant on Christmas Day.

If this sounds like you, then The Stag and Walton may have the perfect option for you.

They are offering a take-away service on Christmas Day, which you can enjoy from the comfort of your own without the stress of cooking it yourself.

There are plenty of tasty-looking options on the menu including layered pork, chicken and cranberry terrine and honey and ginger goats cheese roulade for starters.

As well as the traditional turkey dinner with trimmings, they also sell sirloin of beef, clementine and cranberry roast salmon and a vegetarian tart.

Leave room for puddings as there are three tasty option to choose from: Traditional Christmas pudding, chocolate praline pyramid and Raspberry eton mess cheesecake.

The three course meal costs £35 per person and there are also some added extras included in the box, such as crackers, streamers, chocolates and mince pies.

Toby Carvery Warrington, Floyd Drive

Sometimes, nothing beats good food down at your local carvery.

At the Toby Carvery in Warrington, you get a three course Christmas Day dinner for £57.99.

You can book your slot online- but be aware that a non-refundable deposit of £10 is required.

Baked camembert and minted orange melon are some of the starter options, while Christmas pudding a cheese platter are some of the puddings available.

The main festive dinner comes with five different meats and all of the trimmings; baked fillet of salmon and spinach, cheddar and mushroom is also available.

If you just can’t wait for Christmas Day to come around, the Toby Carvery festive menu is available until the 30 December.

On weekdays, three courses will cost you just £14.29; on Saturday it’s £14.99 and on Sunday it’s £18.29.

However, if you want to eat here make sure to book fast as there is limited availability.

This three course meal is £94.95 per person and includes a lot of festive treats.

Plum tomato soup, and goose liver parfait are just two started options available.

For the main meal, the traditional turkey dinner comes with all the trimmings- but there are four other options if you don’t like turkey.

One of these is a 10oz rib eye steak which comes with dripping chips, tempura shallot rings, beef tomato, portobello mushroom & blue cheese sauce.

Room for dessert? Christmas pudding and chocolate marquise are just two options available.

A spokes person for the company said: "We prepare all food fresh on site and source our meat and vegetables as locally as possible.

"Our venue is large which allows us to offer tables which are socially distant from others.

"Also, we offer a relaxed and friendly style of dining in a beautiful venue."

If you do choose to eat here, the restaurant recommend the salt beef hash and scallops.

If you can’t make it on the day, they also have a set menu specifically for December.

Harvester Apollo, Westbrook

Want to go out for Christmas lunch but left booking for the last minute?

The Harvester in Westbrook has plenty of availability- and their Christmas Day menu looks impressive.

You get three courses for £47.99 the starter of which includes a festive seafood trio and duck pate to name a few.

The turkey dinner comes with all the trimmings- but there is also a mushroom, cranberry, spinach and brie Wellington for vegetarians.

For a truly alternative Christmas dinner, you can opt to have a sirloin steak and rib combo.

However, a £10 non-refundable deposit is required so keep this in mind before you book
