A SUSPECT has been charged after boilers, ovens and toilets were stolen during burglaries at houses on construction sites.
Seven homes on Watergrove Crescent in Great Sankey were targeted back in August, with six boilers and an oven to the value of up to £10,000 taken.
Between August and September, four more plots off Lingley Green Avenue were targeted.
Three boilers and toilet cisterns valued at £7,700 were stolen during these break-ins.
Another three houses under construction off Lingley Green Avenue were then burgled in October, with boilers worth roughly £3,000 taken.
Wayne Atack, of Swinton, has since been charged with eight counts of burglary and theft in connection with these incidents and a series of other break-ins across Cheshire.
In total, seven building sites – including others in Northwich and Sandbach – were targeted between February and November, with the total value of the goods taken during the offences believed to be more than £30,000.
The 37-year-old is due to appear before Warrington Magistrates Court later today, Tuesday, in order to face these charges.
