LAST month in Yester Years, we published this picture of a winning school rugby team.

Keith Nash sent this picture of Alderman Bolton School from 1957.

They were the winning Warrington rugby league schools cup side that year.

The final took place at the old Wilderspool Stadium as a curtain raiser.

They faced the parochial school and won 19-3.

There was one missing name, Tony Bradshaw, who now lives in Scotland but got in touch.

He added: “The missing name on the photo ,could be me.

“I remember most of the team and Norman Wilson captain, lived at the back of us in Chantler Avenue.

“Our gardens were knocked into one by our dads, so we could practice.

“The teachers were great guys to , Mr Sneddon, Mr Paste and Mr Horrocks . They took us on hillwalking adventures and set me on a mountaineering way of life and a tour in the RAF Mountain Rescue servic , RAF Kinloss in my 20s.”

His brother still lives in Warrington, and other members of my family, and Ste sent me the rugby photo from the Guardian.
