STUDENTS from Warrington and Vale Royal College will be taking part in a national charity run to raise funds for The Royal British Legion.

The proceeds raised by the My Poppy Run 2020 event will help The Royal British Legion to continue its work assisting members of the Armed Forces and their families.

The Warrington sport and public services students, led by tutor Andy Bramhall, will be running on Monday in Orford Park, joining forces with a virtual community of fellow runners across the country.

They will be given allocated running times and will run or walk around the park for either 30 or 60 minutes, with each student aiming to reach a certain number of steps or cover a certain distance during the event.

Matt Bold, the college’s curriculum manager for sport and public services, said: "As a college we are incredibly proud that our students are taking part in this national event and contributing to such a worthwhile cause.

"The students are all really looking forward to the run and being part of something so important."
