GREAT Sankey will be launching a Christmas market with 40 stalls on Sunday, November 29.
Lisa Cowley, behind the 'Independent Street' artisan markets has teamed up with Great Sankey Parish Council and The Woodlands pub to create a 'Covid compliant' festive event in what has been a 'difficult year for everyone'.
It follows a consultation the parish council had with residents which indicated that 63 per cent of respondents wanted to see a market in the area. If it is a success, there could be more pop-up events in the near future.
Lisa said: “We have been overwhelmed by the response from the community and have been inundated with positive messages and applications for stalls.
"We cannot wait to deliver a specialist event with many award-winning producers of unique goods set to inspire. We are very excited to launch in Great Sankey and hope you can join us on November 29."
There will be 40 stalls offering street food, artisan produce and Christmas gift ideas.
Cllr Dan Price, who is leading the project for the parish council, added: “Our first step is to deliver a Covid compliant event that the community can enjoy and supports Warrington businesses during what has been a difficult year for everyone. If we can do that and make it a success, we’re hoping to run a regular monthly market throughout 2021.”
The Christmas market will be on Sunday, November 29, between 11am and 4pm. Entry is free.
