A MERSEYSIDE-based law firm has completed its takeover of a Warrington business as part of its ‘ambitious’ growth plan.

Smooth Law, which helps clients with personal injury claims, has acquired Suez Street law firm SorryMate Group for an undisclosed sum after a successful second quarter of 2020.

SorryMate is described as a ‘boutique’ law firm specialist in motorcycle, cycle and large value claims.

Smooth Law now employs 25 members of staff across the two businesses and says that the takeover is a ‘clear statement’ of its intent to increate turnover further.

And the company continues to actively look for further growth opportunities to expand its offering to customers.

Director Paul McKittrick said: “The acquisition of SorryMate is another step in the right direction for Smooth, and we will certainly be implementing an ‘if it’s not broken, don’t fix it’ attitude.

Warrington Guardian:

“This will allow SorryMate to maintain its strong ethos and core values that have served it so well over the years.

“Looking to the future, we now have the funding to acquire other practices that share our client-focused values.”

Fergus Dalgarno, partner at SorryMate, added: “I am very excited about this deal. We look out for our biker clients like family because we are bikers too.

“It is clear from my conversations with Paul that the Smooth team is going to support the company’s continued growth plans, allowing us to continue looking after our biker community.

“It is our sole aim to get other bikers back on their feet after an accident.”
