IT’S going to be murder when one of the world’s most luxurious trains pulls out of Warrington – and passengers are going to have to work out whodunnit.

A murder mystery lunch trip is being organised aboard the Northern Belle, which was once part of the iconic Orient Express group.

Passengers are invited to board at Bank Quay on a red carpet with a champagne reception on September 26.

They must then solve the clues while tucking into a seven-course meal with wine.

Warrington Guardian:

A Northern Belle spokesman said: “We’ve all heard of ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ – now it is time for Murder on the Northern Belle.

“We think Agatha Christie would approve and it will be up to our passengers to use their little grey cells, like Hercule Poirot, to work out who is the villain.”

The Northern Belle’s 1930s-style Pullman carriages will be hauled by a heritage locomotive during the five-hour journey.

Warrington Guardian:

As well as the murder mystery taking place in front of their eyes thanks to a team of actors, passengers will also be entertained by musicians and a magician. The Northern Belle will leave Bank Quay at 1pm on Saturday September 26 and is scheduled to arrive back at 6pm.

The fare is £275. Visit northernbelle.co.uk or phone 01270 899681.
