WARRINGTON has been ranked as the second ‘most civilised’ night out in the country in a new survey.

The survey by reviewing website Online Casinos analysed data on hospital admissions as a result of binge-drinking, crime rates and affairs for towns and cities across the UK in compiling the list.

And Warrington came in at second in the study, with only Wokingham in Berkshire ahead of the town.

Carlisle was the only other place in the north west to feature in the top 10.

Blackpool was rated as the most uncivilised night out, with Manchester placing in fourth.

A spokesman said: “Lockdown left many longing for a well-deserved pint at their local boozer.

“But, with many pubs and restaurants now back open, are boozy Brits going to be on their best behaviour?

“A night out can often get out of hand – leading to poor life choices such as cheating on your partner, or even spending the night in a police cell.

“With Brits eager to paint the town red, Online Casinos has analysed cheating statistics, crime index data and alcohol-related hospital admissions to unveil the best and worst places for a civilised night out.

“The northern town of Warrington takes second place for the most civilised night out in the UK.

“Sandwiched between Liverpool and Manchester, the arguably less well-known town shows that restraint and good behaviour pays off.”
