IT is one of the town’s most popular pubs, and the Famous King and Queen in Padgate is open once again.
The Padgate Lane watering hole reopened at 11am on Monday, July 6, after an enforced closure of more than three months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

And we paid a visit to take a look at the social distancing measures in place at the pub and many others like it across Warrington.
Standing at the bar is now banned, while temperature checks have been implemented and a protective screen has been installed for staff.
One-way systems are present, with only one allowed in the toilets at a time.
Customers are asked to leave their details in case of an outbreak, and hand sanitising stations have been set up.
