A TALENTED young artist from Latchford has created a unique piece of lockdown art in aid of a Warrington-based homeless charity.
Matilda Williams, 11, put her artistic skills to good use by creating Corona Lisa, her own adaptation of the famous Mona Lisa.
"It’s a graffiti style made from recycled wood and paint we had lying around," explained Mum Jo.
"Matilda and her dad came up with the idea - a little project to keep them both busy during lockdown using materials we had in already.
"For example, the frame is made out of our old Victorian bathroom floorboards."
Comme Ca Art Gallery in Manchester listed the artwork on its website and social media channels.
Corona Lisa was sold within a day, with plenty of offers.
Jo added: "The gallery has now suggested we do prints also, which we are currently looking into doing.
"We chose to donate the money to The Y Project as we’re aware of how difficult and challenging lockdown is for the homeless, and feel it is a deserving charity."
Room at the Inn - The Y Project provides daytime services to homeless and vulnerable people, as well as a night shelter.
It helps people access specialist services and find the right support.
