A HEART-warming video shows how an RSPCA rescuer saved a trapped coot and returned him to his family at Appleton Reservoir.
Inspector Anthony Joynes was called out after a member of the public reported seeing a young coot caught in the reservoir's overflow channel.
The poor bird had washed over the ledge and was unable to climb the seven-foot high walls.
Anthony was able to save the animal and he was reunited with his waiting parents and two siblings.
"I was wearing my camera which captured how I managed to rescue the bird," Anthony explained.
"It was quite fast so I had to put a sprint on!
"It was so nice to place it back in the reservoir with his family and they all swam over to him.
"It is always good to help provide a happy ending with our rescues."
