A KIND-HEARTED businesswoman is offering to help make NHS workers' wedding days even more special.

Nicola Heywood, who owns MakeADateEvents, decided that she wanted to give something back to the hardworking NHS staff who may have weddings planned.

While her work is on hold at the moment, Nicola networked with various local businesses to create the NHS Nightingale Giveaway.

Nicola, from Sankey Bridges, said: "MakeADateEvents really is my dream job. I absolutely love making it memorable for others and I'm missing it so much at the moment.

"It was during the second week of clapping for our carers that I knew I had to do something to help and give back to the incredible NHS workers.

"I've had so many chats with my brides in the last few weeks as everyone is rearranging their plans.

"I just wanted to make a difference to their lives and make their days even more memorable."

By getting in touch with her usual suppliers and fellow small business owners, Nicola has managed to already source 50 prizes for workers in the north west.

The prizes include a bronze wedding package, a donut wall, bottles of champagne, a bridal veil, afternoon tea and much more.

Nicola added: "Businesses have been so generous, everyone got on board straightaway and we decided to do a big giveaway.

"Instead one just one person winning everything we decided it would be better if we could treat as many brides and grooms as possible."

Any NHS worker can enter by visiting the MakeADateEvents Facebook page.

The live draw will take place on Thursday, May 28 at 8pm.
