FIVE more new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Warrington and Halton.

According to Government figures released this evening, 15 people have tested positive in the area - up from 10 yesterday.

One patient, a man in his 50s with underlying health problems, died last week in Warrington Hospital.

There are likely to many more people with the virus across the borough, self-isolating at home.

The past 24 hours has seen the biggest rise in deaths since the outbreak in the UK

The number has climbed from 578 to 759, according to the Department of Health. This is the biggest rise in deaths that the country has seen so far.

14,579 have now tested positive for the disease.
