This week, we have been asking you which Indian is your favourite in terms of consistent quality, atmosphere and service.

So below is our top six curry houses based on the volume of your nominations and messages with the most detail as to why a particular restaurant was best.

Birchwood Spice at The Poacher, Birchwood

Birchwood Spice received the most nominations by far with customers sharing their experiences of the 'superb food' and 'fantastic friendly staff' who are always happy to cater for special requests.

One comment said: "Our area needed something we were lacking – Birchwood Spice has done that. The restaurant brings our community together, food is fantastic, great variety and portions, service is excellent and take away service is just as good. Come and try it."

The Cottage, Church Street

Warrington Guardian:

The ambience of a quaint and cosy Grade ll* Tudor building meets great service and delicious dishes at The Cottage.

A contributor said: "We have been going for years and it’s always amazing quality food and the service is second to none. Always polite and friendly yet professional. It’s our favourite place to go for special treats."

Spicy Ginger, Latchford Village

Regulars say Spicy Ginger is consistently a 'winner' whether it's a cheeky takeaway night or full restaurant experience.

A reader said: "Spicy Ginger is by far best food either in restaurant or delivery. The manager really friendly and we always get little presents on birthdays."

Bombay 8, Gemini

Bombay 8 has been praised for being very attentive and particularly adaptable when it comes to their menu and customer preferences.

One comment said: "Bombay 8 is my favourite by a mile. Nothing is ever too much trouble, they will 'veggitise' anything for me."

Cinnamon Lounge, Sankey Street

As well as their 'fantastic' curries, the Cinnamon Lounge team have been praised for their 'kind hearts' with regular charity nights.

Cardamon, Stockton Heath

A Facebook reader said: "Delicious food and fantastic service. Andy, Neo and the team always make us so welcome."

Another added: "The Cardamon in Stockton Heath is divine, really spicy, great king prawns and lovely draught beer."
