A CLOTHES shop was raided by a masked robber brandishing a knife on Tuesday morning.

The offender entered VC Industrial Clothing and Uniformity on Lovely Lane shortly after 9.15am on March 10 and threatened two members of staff with the weapon, demanding that they hand over cash from the till.

He fled the store empty-handed after the employees refused.

Cheshire Police say the suspect was white, around 6ft with a slim build and spoke with a Warrington accent.

The man was wearing a striped, light grey hoodie with the hood pulled up, black trousers, mirrored sunglasses and a black snood covering the bottom half of his face.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, and officers have appealed for information from members of the public in a bid to trace the attacker.

Detective constable Darren Gibson said: “While the offender fled empty-handed, the victims in this case have understandably been left shaken up.

“We are doing all that we can to trace the man responsible and make him face the consequences of his actions.

“As part of our ongoing enquiries, we are looking to trace the man in the CCTV images.

“If you think you recognise him from his build and the clothes he had on, please contact the team here at Warrington Police Station.

“The same goes for motorists with dashcams who were driving along Lovely Lane between 9am and 10am on Tuesday, March 10.”

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number IML657073, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
