WORK to remove trees is being carried as part of the £19.89 million Centre Park link road scheme.
Tree clearance works are being completed on the bus link from Centre Park to Slutchers Lane under a footway closure, with no traffic management measures in place or any restriction to bus movements.
Work is also programmed to commence on the area of land between Wilson Patten Street and Slutchers Lane today, Monday, for three days.
This will involve the use of temporary two-way traffic signals on Slutchers Lane between 8am and 6pm.
The remaining overhanging trees will be cleared on February 16, with two-way temporary traffic signals in place from 8am.
The project will deliver a new bridge across the River Mersey from Chester Road, just north of Gainsborough Road, which will join onto an extended Slutchers Lane leading from Wilson Patten Street.
A new signal-controlled junction is to be constructed at each end of the new link on Chester Road and Wilson Patten Street.
The scheme is planned to be completed by the end of the year.
