DO you remember the maze in Sankey Valley Park?

The yew maze was a popular attraction near to Bewsey Old Hall in the 1980s and 1990s.

But since then it has become completely overgrown and this is how it now looks.

Warrington Guardian: Warrington Guardian:

The hall was home to the Lords of Warrington from the 13th to the 17th century. The Boteler family were Lords of the Manor of Warrington from the time of King Henry III until the Elizabethan age.

The maze has a statue of Lady Isabella, wife of the 12th Baron.

The maze is owned by Urban Splash, the Manchester-based development company which turned the hall into modern day apartments.

However they have not responded to a request for a comment from the Warrington Guardian on the state of the maze.
