A MUM-of-two is inviting children with autism to a specialised martial arts class this Thursday.

Shireen Hu will be running the trial class at Kazoku Self Defence in Winwick Quay after seeing the transformation martial arts has made to her son.

She said: "I have two children of my own with autism in which martial arts has helped enormously.

"My kids are in special needs school- my 15-year-old has gone from someone who barely communicated and couldn’t tolerate physical touch to third in the world and Europe in Brazilian jiu-jitsu for his age and rank - in a year!

"I am hoping to help other children with autism by providing classes specifically for those with autism, encouraging social skills, team work and focus."

The school is offering a free trial class on Thursday at 6.30pm for children aged between five and 14.

There are limited spaces available on the trial class to make sure it isn’t an overwhelming environment.

To book, text Shireen on 07544722808 with your child’s age or contact Kazoku Self Defence via Facebook.
