EMERGENCY services were called after a car was in flames following a collision.
Police closed a section of a road following what they called a "serious road traffic collision" shortly before 4am this morning (Saturday).
The closure was in place on the A49 Winwick Road at junction nine, the B&Q roundabout travelling from Warrington to Winwick and also at the roundabout exit travelling off the M62 from Manchester towards B&Q.

Firefighters and ambulance also attended the scene and two people were treated for smoke inhalation.
A fire service spokesperson said: "On arrival the crew found that there have been a collision involving one vehicle which had subsequently set on fire.
"One firefighter, wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
"Two casualties were treated for at the scene for smoke inhalation, they were then passed to the care of paramedics."
