THE former Sure Start Centre in Birchwood has been converted into a nursery.
Wasps Link Club & Nurseries opened a breakfast and afterschool club at Birchwood CE Primary School in September.
Staff saw the facility next door which had been used as a Surestart centre and was closed due to funding cuts.
Wasps Management proposed a full day care nursery which would compliment the wrap around care provision and provide a small nursery for the community.
With the assistance of their management team Nic McCarthy and Carol Davis who have worked for Wasps for more than 14 years worked to prepare the centre in a short period to open its doors ready for the school.s open evening.
They said: “The facility will be a welcome childcare provision in this very busy community hub at the heart of Birchwood.”
