A NEW speaker was elected for the House of Commons on Monday night.
And he has a real link to Warrington.
Chorley MP Sir Lindsay Hoyle replaces John Bercow in the job.

The Labour politician received more than 50 per cent of votes in the fourth ballot of MPs, defeating his party colleague Chris Bryant.
And he has a perhaps little known link to Warrington.
His dad is Lord Doug Hoyle - who served as MP in Warrington for 16 years from 1981 to 1997.
He now serves in the House of Lords and is a familiar figure in Warrington.
He was chairman of the Wolves for 10 years, leading out the team before the successful 2009 Challenge Cup Final win over Huddersfield.

He received the freedom of the borough in 2005 and was given an honorary degree of Doctor of Letters by the University of Chester for his 'outstanding contribution to the Borough of Warrington' in 2010.
