WARRINGTON'S two MPs joined an opposition pact to stop an early general election.
Helen Jones, Warrington North MP, and Faisal Rashid, Warrington South MP, chose not to vote on the motion in Parliament on Monday night.
The government called the vote for a second time in a bid to break the Brexit delays.
But opposition parties said they would not support an election until a no deal option with the EU was off the table.
The motion needed the support of two-thirds of MPs, but only 293 supported holding an election.
More than 300 did not vote.
