ARTIST Luke Jerram’s stunning Museum of the Moon will be available to view for free at Parr Hall – but tickets must be booked in advance.

The launch night for the out of this world installation is Friday, October 4, but to manage numbers, visitors will be split into nine half hour sessions.

The free tickets, which are in hot demand, can be reserved on a first come first served basis on the Parr Hall’s website with times available between 6pm and 10pm.

A spokesman for Culture Warrington said: "We have released additional tickets as the first wave of the earlier tickets sold out in less than a week.

"There are 2,700 tickets available with some time slots sold out completely."

Museum of the Moon – the key feature of this year’s Contemporary Art Festival – is not the only thing to enjoy on the launch night as it will coincide with the free ‘Light Night’ in Queens Gardens.

Family-friendly interactive sound and light installations and live performances will bring Palmyra Square to life alongside street food and drink.

It will include the ‘Illumaphonium’, a huge ‘hands-on’ multi-player musical instrument designed for large public places and performances by digital artists ‘Squidsoup’ and 2Faced Dance Company.
