IF you've ever longed for a steak bake on the way home from the pub or a vegan sausage roll after a late work shift, you could be in luck.
Bakery chain Greggs has today announced it will trial late openings for stores across the country.
It is not yet known which ones will take part in the trial, with more information being released later this year.
Currently only a handful of stores stay open late including one in Westminster, which closes at 11pm, and one in Newcastle, which remains open till 9pm.
The announcement comes after the chain reported a strong rise in profits, partly due to the popularity of it's recently released vegan sausage roll.
Profits in the first half of the year jumped from £24.1 million to almost £37 million.
A spokesperson for Greggs said: "With increasing demand for convenient meal solutions, we are continuing to develop our offer for later in the day.
"Hot food options are also being developed with the roll-out of hot food cabinets supporting growing sales of new lines alongside our existing hot sandwich range.
"Trials of extended late opening hours will follow in the autumn."
