AN Old Hall pre-school which was facing closure two years ago has undergone a dramatic turnaround to receive a ‘good’ Ofsted rating.

Jack and Jill Pre-school, which operates out of Bewsey Barns Community Centre, has made great strides to improve its standards thanks to its ‘passionate and skilled management team’.

Over the past two years, Jack and Jill have completed extensive refurbishment work, including the purchase an outdoor play cabin and canopy so that children can access the outdoors in all weathers.

In their latest report, Ofsted said: “The passionate and skilled management team works hard to make improvements in the setting.

“The newly built outdoor canopy and classroom have provided further space for the children to explore and learn, which they can now do regularly.

“Staff know the children and families very well through generations of families attending the setting and as a result, children become familiar with the environment from an early age.”

Jack and Jill Pre-School were also highly commended in this year’s Warrington Guardian Schools Awards, which shows how far the pre-school has come according to Manager Kadie Richards.

“We have been working really hard at Jack and Jill and we are really pleased with our ‘good’ rating and plan to aim for an outstanding in the future.

“We were also very pleased to be recognised in the Warrington Guardian School Awards and was nice to hear we are thought highly of by parents past and present.

“The support from our parents and children over past two years has been overwhelming.”

Jack and Jill are now taking names for their 2019 and 2020 waiting list, with most sessions nearly full.
