A CARJACKER, a former Warrington Wolves forward and a conman letting agent were among the Warrington criminals brought to justice in July.
Every month, the Warrington Guardian takes a look back at some of the court cases that have been featured in the paper in the weeks previously.
Other defendants appearing in July included members of a lucrative cocaine racket, a mum who repeatedly stabbed a woman in the head in a revenge attack and a paeodphile caught with nearly three million indecent images of children.

CRIME: Wounding with intent
The mum repeatedly stabbed victim Lisa Willis in the head in a flat in Orford in a 'frightening' revenge attack.
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: "Given the circumstances, these injuries could have been much more serious."
SENTENCE: Five years and four months in prison

CRIME: Health and safety breaches
The £100,000 company director admitted failings after a worker at his factory was scalped and lost an ear and thumb in a horrific industrial accident.
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: "This amounted to a serious and systemic failure on the company's part."

The convicted fraudster was put back behind bars for pinching a TV from a town centre hotel.

CRIME: Conspiracy to supply cocaine
Voos stashed cash and drugs in his grandma's house in Cinnamon Brow as part of his role in gang boss Jamie Oldroyd's cocaine racket - which shipped huge quantities of the class A substance across the country.
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: "Those who involve themselves in the supply of class A drugs can expect substantial periods of imprisonment."
SENTENCE: Seven years in prison
Co-defendants Kyle Kelly and Jordan Read were handed jail sentences of five years and seven months and nine years and seven months respectively.
The following week, Ryan Quinnell - who was also part of the operation - was also jailed for nine years and seven months.

The IT technician was spared prison last year after being caught with nearly three million indecent images of children, but he was brought back before the courts after breaching a sexual harm prevention order handed down by a judge.

The drug addict let a £2,000-per-day gang deal heroin and crack cocaine from her flat.

CRIME: Inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and sexual communications with a child
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: "It's a matter of great concern what would have happened if you would have met her."
SENTENCE: Two years and four months in prison

AGE: 24
COURT: Chester Crown Court
DATE: Monday, July 8
CRIME: Dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident and perverting the course of justice
Ellis crashed his dad's van head-on into a taxi before fleeing the scene and reporting that the vehicle had been stolen in a burglary.
SENTENCE: A year in prison

CRIME: Affray, failing to leave an area when directed to do so by police, failing to surrender to bail and breaching supervision requirements
The serial offender was involved in an attack in which a homeless man was kicked and punched while lying on the ground.
SENTENCE: 18 weeks in prison

CRIME: Inflicting grievous bodily harm
The former Warrington Wolves forward and ex-Everton trainee broke a man's jaw in an unprovoked attack in a town centre nightclub.
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: "It was a powerful punch that caused the victim to fall to the floor and rendered him unconscious."
SENTENCE: A year in prison
Mike Stewart
NAME: Cannot be named for legal reasons
AGE: 15
COURT: Warrington Magistrates Court
DATE: Wednesday, July 10
CRIME: Robbery
The teenager robbed a 12-year-old boy of his bike in the town centre after telling him he was carrying a knife.
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: "I think you are a bright boy – make sure you do not appear before the courts again."

The letting agent invented repair works for rental properties he managed and pocketed £16,500.
