LARGE crowds gathered in the centre of Stockton Heath today, Saturday, for one of the biggest events on the calendar.
Stockton Heath Walking Day took centre stage with school children, churchgoers, scouts, guides, cubs and rainbows among those to join the parade.
They were led by bands including Warrington Brass and Golborne Brass Band.

The day started with a small service on Alexandra Park before the walkers took to the streets.
The roads were closed as the traditional route along London Road, Ellesmere Road and Walton Road was observed.
Among those watching the parade were mayor Cllr Wendy Johnson, Warrington South MP Faisal Rashid and crime commissioner David Keane.
